Skeins of Plymouth Linen Isle or 100% cotton worsted weight yarn
Needles:
US11, 24-inch circular
Gauge:
Not important – it’s stretchy
Size:
Instructions are given for small and large bags
Cast on 20 stitches and
knit 30 rows
Bind off
, but don’t cut your yarn. (you’ll have one
loop left there at the end of the row)
Pick up 19 stitches where
you just bound off, 15 sts down the side, 20 sts across the cast-on edge, and 15 sts
up the other side. 70 stitches total.
Place a marker here to mark
the beginning of the row.
Knit one row.
Netting Pattern:
Row 1: *K2tog, YO * repeat
all the way around
Row 2: Knit 70 sts
Row 3: *YO, K2tog* repeat
all the way around
Row 4: Knit 70 sts
Repeat these 4 rows 2 times
(4 times for a large bag)
Knit 4 rows
Next row: *YO, K2tog*
repeat all the way around
Knit 4 rows
Repeat the 4 Netting
Pattern rows 2 times
(4 times for a large bag)
Knit 4 rows
Now we’re going to do the
handles. Knit 18 stitches, Bind off 17, Knit 18, Bind off 17
Next row: K2tog 9 times,
Cast on 40sts, K2tog 9 times, Cast On 40. (98 stitches
total)
Knit 3 rows, then bind off
all stitches and weave in your ends.
